Overview of competition elements and scoring rubrics .

We’re going to design, build, and program machines that interact with their environment to solve robotics challenges.

We’re going to research, create, and demonstrate a solution to a climate change problem.

We’re going to accomplish these things using FLL definitions for teamwork and values.

We’re aiming to meet excellent categories in all scoring rubrics.

This team is an opportunity for students to excel within a defined framework (see scoring rubric).

Due to the high volume of work, the short calendar, and the need to teach fundamentals in order to get the students into production, part time participants and disruptive students will be excused.

From the Coaches Promise:

The children come first. FLL is about the children having fun and getting excited about science and technology. Everything my team does starts and ends with this principle.

The children do the work. This is their opportunity to learn and grow. The children on my team do all of the programming, research, problem solving, and building. Adults can help them find the answers, but cannot give them answers or make decisions.

All team members are no older than 14 on January 1, 2008.
