“South Park” is hilarious, right?
The veiled threats against the Comedy Central show’s creators should be taken very seriously. Islamists seek to replace the rule of law with that of commanding right and forbidding wrong.

‘South Park” is hilarious, right? Not any more.
Last week, Zachary Adam Chesser—a 20-year-old Muslim convert who now goes by the name Abu Talhah Al-Amrikee—posted a warning on the Web site RevolutionMuslim.com following the 200th episode of the show on Comedy Central. The episode, which trotted out many celebrities the show has previously satirized, also “featured” the Prophet Muhammad: He was heard once from within a U-Haul truck and a second time from inside a bear costume.
For this apparent blasphemy, Mr. Amrikee warned that co-creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone “will probably end up” like Theo van Gogh. Van Gogh, readers will remember, was the Dutch filmmaker who was brutally murdered in 2004 on the streets of Amsterdam. He was killed for producing “Submission,” a film that criticized the subordinate role of women in Islam, with me.
There has been some debate about whether Mr. Stone and Mr. Parker should view the Web posting as a direct threat. Here’s Mr. Amrikee’s perspective: “It’s not a threat, but it really is a likely outcome,” he told Foxnews.com. “They’re going to be basically on a list in the back of the minds of a large number of Muslims. It’s just the reality.” He’s also published the home and office addresses of Messrs. Stone and Parker, as well as images of Van Gogh’s body.
According to First Amendment experts, technically speaking this posting does not constitute a threat. And general opinion seems to be that even if this posting was intended as a threat, Mr. Amrikee and his ilk are merely fringe extremists who are disgruntled with U.S. foreign policy; their “outrage” merits little attention.
This raises the question: How much harm can an Islamist fringe group do in a free society? The answer is a lot.
Mohammed Bouyeri, a Dutch-Moroccan Muslim first thought to have been a minor character in radical circles, killed Theo van Gogh. Only during the investigation did it emerge that he was the ringleader of the Hofstad Group, a terrorist organization that was being monitored by the Dutch Secret Service.
The story was very similar in the case of the Danish cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad. The cartoons, drawn by Kurt Westergaard, were published in September 2005 to little notice but exploded five months later into an international drama complete with riots and flag-burnings. The man behind this campaign of outrage was an Egyptian-born radical imam named Ahmed Abu-Laban.
Prior to this conflagration, Mr. Abu-Laban was seen as a marginal figure. Yet his campaign ended up costing Denmark businesses an estimated $170 million in the spring of 2006. And this doesn’t include the cost of rebuilding destroyed property and protecting the cartoonists.
So how worried should the creators of “South Park” be about the “marginal figures” who now threaten them? Very. In essence, Mr. Amrikee’s posting is an informal fatwa. Here’s how it works:
There is a basic principle in Islamic scripture—unknown to most not-so-observant Muslims and most non-Muslims—called “commanding right and forbidding wrong.” It obligates Muslim males to police behavior seen to be wrong and personally deal out the appropriate punishment as stated in scripture. In its mildest form, devout people give friendly advice to abstain from wrongdoing. Less mild is the practice whereby Afghan men feel empowered to beat women who are not veiled.
By publicizing the supposed sins of Messrs. Stone and Parker, Mr. Amrikee undoubtedly believes he is fulfilling his duty to command right and forbid wrong. His message is not just an opinion. It will appeal to like-minded individuals who, even though they are a minority, are a large and random enough group to carry out the divine punishment. The best illustration of this was demonstrated by the Somali man who broke into Mr. Westergaard’s home in January carrying an axe and a knife.
Any Muslim, male or female, who knows about the “offense” may decide to perform the duty of killing those who insult the prophet. So what can be done to help Mr. Parker and Mr. Stone?
The first step is for them to consult with experts on how to stay safe. Even though living with protection, as I do now in Washington, D.C., curtails some of your freedom, it is better than risking the worst.
Much depends on how far the U.S. government is prepared to contribute to their protection. According to the Danish government, protecting Mr. Westergaard costs the taxpayers $3.9 million, excluding technical operating equipment. That’s a tall order at a time of intense fiscal pressure.
One way of reducing the cost is to organize a solidarity campaign. The entertainment business, especially Hollywood, is one of the wealthiest and most powerful industries in the world. Following the example of Jon Stewart, who used the first segment of his April 22 show to defend “South Park,” producers, actors, writers, musicians and other entertainers could lead such an effort.
Another idea is to do stories of Muhammad where his image is shown as much as possible. These stories do not have to be negative or insulting, they just need to spread the risk. The aim is to confront hypersensitive Muslims with more targets than they can possibly contend with.
Another important advantage of such a campaign is to accustom Muslims to the kind of treatment that the followers of other religions have long been used to. After the “South Park” episode in question there was no threatening response from Buddhists, Christians and Jews—to say nothing of Tom Cruise and Barbra Streisand fans—all of whom had far more reason to be offended than Muslims.
Islamists seek to replace the rule of law with that of commanding right and forbidding wrong. With over a billion and a half people calling Muhammad their moral guide, it is imperative that we examine the consequences of his guidance, starting with the notion that those who depict his image or criticize his teachings should be punished.
In “South Park,” this tyrannical rule is cleverly needled when Tom Cruise asks the question: How come Muhammad is the only celebrity protected from ridicule? Now we know why.

“Early this morning on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” there was a discussion about our freedoms and who they are set aside for, particularly the 14th Amendment, which defines citizenship and keeps our civil and political rights from being abridged or denied.The Nation’s Chris Hayes . was speaking on the rights of suspected terrorists, particularly the issues of indefinite detention and whether should they be “Mirandized” or not. He stressed the point that the U.S. Constitution’s protection of legal rights not only applies to legal citizens, but, unpopular as that is today, it also applies to terrorist suspects, much as it does to illegal immigrants who are arrested on American soils.
But in the Bush administration, in the name of public safety, those legal rights were curtailed for certain terrorist suspects. A Feb. 9 editorial in the Wall Street Journal titled “Cheney’s Revenge” asserts that despite efforts little has been done by the Obama administration to move away ` from that stance. The editorial cites the President’s desired closing of the Guantanamo Bay detention facilities and his administration’s backing down of trying 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and four other enemy combatants in civilian court.
In response, Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough said, “I know Bush did it, but that doesn’t make it right,” adding it is something we are still “muddling through.” Meanwhile, Mort Zukerman of U.S. New & World Report counters, saying the Supreme Court allows for different rules to apply than what exist for U.S. citizens.
Forty years ago it was civil rights. Today it is the rights of terrorist suspects.An ongoing process, to be sure, on how to apply our legal protections. But it began more than 230 years ago with our first president and changed significantly with , the election of Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War.
Understanding the “muddling” and shifting public opinion that occurs over time, it is the basic concept of democracy and freedom that we celebrate with Presidents’ Day. Hope you all get a chance to sit back and reflect on it this weekend.”
Well , it won’t take a weekend to reflect on this. First, the 14th Amendment, “Citizenship Rights.”
“All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.”
Was the Christmas day bomber born or naturalized in the U.S.? Was KSM? No. They’re not citizens of the U.S. Where do the Nation’s Chris Hayes and reporter Beth Shelly come up with the notion that 14th Am. protections were intended to apply to non-citizens? Certainly not in the text of the Constitution so amended.
The government’s legal authority to deal with non-citizen terrorists comes in the body of the Constitution under Article 1, Section 8, “Powers of Congress.”
“The Congress shall have Power ….
To define and punish Piracies and Felonies committed on the high Seas, and Offenses against the Law of Nations;
To declare War … and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water;
To …. repel Invasions;
To make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into Execution the foregoing Powers, and all other Powers vested by this Constitution in the Government of the United States, or in any Department or Officer thereof.”
Article 1, Section 9, “Limits on Congress” also applies.
“The privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it.”
Fruit of Kaboom and KSM are invading members of a multi-state Islamic religious sect who have declared war on the United States. The 14th Amendment body of law protects individual citizen rights against the government. It doesn’t protect members of invading armies who are in a fight to destroy the government. Yet the left would have us buy into this absurdity in order to create a public political forum for attacking conservative politicians. They would subvert the Constitution–that protects them too–to score political points in the modern media-charged democratic process.

Just as national socialism gradually evolved through good intentions and the nurturing of a socialist constituency, so our own brand of U.S. federal socialism grows. Obama and the leftists in congress track closely with the German national socialists of the 1930s. Every one of these movements in history came to a very bad end. What hubris to think our governments and courts could take over industry and banking, rewrite finance and contract law, redistribute wealth between the top half and the bottom half of the population, and ration medicine, while creating no negative consequences. We cannot know the future, but on this well-traveled road, we know, for many, it will be deadly and horrible.

The Script: (for causing legal and cultural changes to occur without benefit of reasonable fact-based analysis)
Desensitize by changing the terminology. Examples: homosexual–>gay, abortion–>choice, socialized medicine–>affordable health care. Do this until the issue becomes thoroughly tiresome and the new terms merit no more than a shrug of the shoulders.
Jam and silence the opposition with widespread intimidation and misrepresentation of their motives. Example: Matthew Shepard was robbed, beaten and later died. Subsequent investigation showed that he was targeted for his money, not his homosexuality. Nevertheless, Christian Coalition, Family Research Council and Focus on the Family were all widely accused of fomenting an anti-homosexual climate and were associated with Shepard’s murderers.
Conversion of the negative into the positive. Hate is love, lies are truth. Positive elements are magnified, negative elements are completely suppressed. Classic propaganda techniques here.
Rewrite history. Revisionism including fabricating new historical figures, giving new motives and new behaviors to existing historical figures, and creating historical outcomes that never existed. For example, many of the early Nazis were homosexual, however, anyone daring to criticize homosexuality today is labeled a Nazi.
This is from David Kupelian’s, The Marketing of Evil. It illustrates the brain washing techniques issuing from the Obama administration with each new day. No matter the issue, the subjects are interchangeable, and the script remains the same.
If the thousands of pages of new federal legislation Obama has inspired don’t succeed in killing off the last remnants of America’s constructive capacity, surely the tedium of the left’s non-stop propaganda war against America will bore the country to death.

We will receive our ballots for the November election in the mail soon. The election is not in November, it is virtually upon us. NOTE, the absence of discussion in the local fishwraps about the removal of county term limits is no accident. To get it passed, our local liberal editors know they must pretend the issue doesn’t exist–a stealth promotion of their political position through omission–because totalitarian initiatives don’t stand up very well under much scrutiny.

If nothing else, the Obama eruption in American politics is steadily revealing the stark reality behind the progressive movement – the totalitarian temptation is always there and, for more than a few, possessing the official power to compel sooner or later becomes irresistible.
Not everybody on the left, of course. Some of the folks I most admire in this town are liberals whose work on behalf of values like transparency in government and protecting civil liberties is remarkable and essential.
Still, that this danger is real and growing becomes more obvious as public opposition grows to the president’s across-the-board campaign to turn Washington into the all-powerful, centralized behemoth that Woodrow Wilson and FDR could only dream about. [Read more…]
the best of intentions…
…are easy. “Have a nice day.” Costs nothing. Makes someone feel good. “I wish you well.” Who would look at that sentiment too closely? It’s simply wonderful. Surely anyone who says those words must be good. Likewise for all the good intentions espoused by the left such as, “Everyone should have health insurance, a college education, a job, a car, American citizenship, a home, unconditional respect from other people, a pure life in a pristine state of nature” and many other good things. Who could seriously question any of those good intentions?
So, how did the left succeed in owning the image that they are the only group in society who hold good intentions for other people? More importantly, how did they do so while maintaining allegiance to social, economic and political methods that fail so completely to actually bring about the intended results of their good intentions?
How does the left live with the dissonance between the intentions they continually express, and the poor results their systems actually produce? Doesn’t it keep them awake at night? Doesn’t it worry them that leftist methods have not produced a single successful society? Ever. In all of recorded history. Wouldn’t that give a reasonable person second thoughts?
And woe unto the heretics who mention the taboo of this inconvenient fact. The left heaps abuse onto them, doubles down on the chanting, and shouts down the dissenters.
Political and economic systems are always a choice between least-bad alternatives. So how does one get away with choosing the worst of the least-bad alternatives, and come away with people thinking they’ve chosen the best?
Is it just good marketing? They’ve got some ‘splainin’ to do.

No question that the “enumeration of civil liberties in the Constitution” has “endangered” many civil rights belonging to many un-anticipated parties not specified in the Constitution. Hence the ever-accelerating expansion of civil rights litigation.
And no question that “political power decree of positive laws without reference to general consent has led to the evasion, defiance, and diminished respect” for statutory law resulting in the “substitution of force for justice,” –another trend in law and enforcement that continues to accelerate.
These trends do not lead to more or better justice, equity or fairness. They substitute the rule of men for the rule of law by shrinking the domain of liberty in human action, and eliminating opportunities for moral choices. While it’s all done in the name of the “public good,” ironically, people who act without making a moral choice cannot be good. Coercion and force nullify morality. Morality requires free choice. Without a moral choice, people cannot choose the good over the bad or evil. The best they can do is obey–the moral stature of a “good doggy.”
Perhaps the left tolerates Islamic submission so well because they’re both systems of obedience.
Each day the news is full of reports of what people liberated from their moral responsibility have done to other people, to the world and to themselves. People who do not experience morality are disconnected from justice or concern for mankind. All the totalitarian systems – Marxism, Islam, Fascism, Socialism, Communism, Progressivism, Gaia, and their numerous combinations and derivatives – take us toward amorality in the name of their concepts of the public good. All of them are self-defeating as they collaterally damage innocents and non-believers. All of them institutionalize corruption.
Freedom, voluntary choice, limited government, judicial equity, all of these traditions preserve moral choice and enforce moral responsibility. There will always be bad men and women. Inflexible totalitarian systems do not contain self-correction mechanisms. They insulate bad people and bad policies from their negative consequences.
Liberty is messy, but it’s still better than everything else because it allows us to evolve. The left only want evolution they can control. The right recognizes the fact that individuals know best how to direct their own evolution.
I pledge…
- to not drink the KoolAid, and
- to critically analyze every public policy, regardless of source and regardless of how magically it is marketed, and
- to only support public policies objectively proven to work, that cannot be done more effectively by private resources, that do not diminish American constitutional freedoms, that do not aggrandize politicians, and that do not expand federal or state governments, and
- to subscribe to Iowahawk.
I see no grounds for hope that these brainwashed tools will come to reason. When we do not submit to them, when we do not endorse their cult, they will get angry. They have power now and will resort to force. Innocent people will die at their hands. When that happens I will be one of those killed. This has happened many times throughout history and will happen again. We are not immune. Power has only increased the left’s lust for more power. The faiths of their economic, social and political myths must be satisfied. Outcomes don’t matter, only belief matters–that and salesmanship. Crushed skulls are merely inconvenient.
