The meeting held last Thursday to begin collecting public input for an Elbert County Transportation Master Plan, didn’t go according to plan.
Apparently, the county’s first transportation master plan meeting was supposed to be a venue for continuing the fight against the toll road, instead of one seeking broader public input. Or maybe someone just left “Kowtow to the Toll Road Warriors” off the agenda last Thursday. Anyway, they’ve filed their claim to a moral high ground, signalled that the real transportation needs of Elbert County are of little interest to them, and assured us that their umbrage and outrage will continue unabated.
Perhaps they could put their sacred cow out to pasture for a couple months and allow an objective process to proceed to determine Elbert County’s real transportation needs, before they ramp-up another self-serving circus.
